Doing deep breathing is a powerful to make yourself a better healer. But why?
Breathing is the primary way that we take in energy. Stop breathing and you die. But breathing is about more than taking in oxygen: when you breathe, you also take in Universal Life Force, or prana, on the breath. This prana is the energy that enables healing to take place.
When you breathe deeply, you affect the aura and psychic centres. The aura immediately expands and the vortices of energy in the aura, known as chakras, or psychic centres, become charged. This, in turn, makes you capable of taking in even more energy through the chakras, so that you become a powerful channel for healing.
There are other reasons too, why deep breathing is such a powerful weapon in the healer's armoury. Of these, the foremost is that yogic breathing exercises are the finest way to develop concentration, and the ability to wield concentrated thought is essential in healing, where visualisation plays an important role. The breath and thought are inextricably linked: deep breathing brings about strong thought, and shallow breathing the opposite.
